We Love Fall!

The Wallaces have really been enjoying the beautiful Fall that we've been having here in Birmingham!

We've picnicked at Railroad Park for the Food Truck Festival.  We ate and drank beer while James danced to the D.J. and ate his first popsicle!

Last weekend, we spent a couple of hours at the Pumpkin Patch.  I will have to say that I was a little skeptical at how much James would a) enjoy it and b) understand what was going on.

First, we went on a short hay ride to the pumpkin patch.

After searching for a long two minutes, we found our pumpkin!

Perfect photo opp...

We loaded up on the hay ride again to go back to all the fun and festivities.  Another opportunity for some cute photos came at the barn.  Of course, all James wanted to do was stare at the tractors pulling the hay rides.  Oh well, still a cutie :)

Then, Mommy took James on the "Twactor Twain" that lasted all of a minute but was surprisingly a thriller!

After the bumpy twain ride, we ate corn dogs, grilled cheese, and french fries on picnic tables right in front of a country band.  James loved the food and the music and was showing off all of his moves :)

James had so much fun but I think Mommy had the most fun of everyone!  I took in every moment with my baby boy and Erol.  Time is going by so fast but I'm enjoying every minute of it!

I think James is too!

James Turns One!

On August 29th, my Baby Boy turned One Year Old!  This year has been the BEST year of our lives!  We have enjoyed watching this little baby turn into such a handsome and sweet boy.  He lights up our lives in a way we never expected.

Only a few tears were shed on his birthday :)  We started the day off singing happy birthday to him.  Then, I brought cupcakes to his classroom and we had a "mini" party for him!  When daddy came home from work, we had baked spaghetti (made by Nanny of course) and a smash cake bought by KoKo.  He liked the spaghetti as usual but LOVED the cake!  He definitely has a sweet tooth like his mommy :)

That weekend, we traveled to Nannie and Grandpa's and had a Pool Party to celebrate his turning one!  The theme was whales and sailboats.  When going through these pictures, don't think I'm become this crafty mommy.  I'm still a wanna-be and purchased everything from a store on etsy :)

All of our friends and family from down South came and we ate hotdogs, shrimp, "seaweed dip", "fish food", and watermelon.

Don't forget the cake!  Publix made an awesome cupcake cake in the shape of a sailboat with a whale smash cake.  It turned out perfect!

After Round 1 of swimming, we sang happy birthday and smashed some cake!

Here are some more pics from the party

Davis was such a help opening presents

Uncle John, Aunt Amy, and Thomas gave James a Cozy Coupe.  He LOVED IT!!  He strolled around in it all afternoon and laughed the whole time!

Put the boy who love it the most was Thomas!  I've never seen him laugh so much before!  James was such a good sport to let Thomas ride in his Cozy Coupe with him :)

We had a great time celebrating James' One year old birthday.  It was a day that I will never forget.  We love you so much James  and we look forward to next year and the adventures to come!

11 Months!

A few weeks ago, James turned 11 months old. He weighs about 21.5 pounds but I'm not sure how long he is.  He growing into such a handsome boy and learning so much every day!

James still loves to read books, throw around his Mickey Ball, and play with his toy truck.  His obsession with Mickey Mouse in only growing bigger by the day :)  Every time Mickey Mouse comes on the television, he squeals, points, and attempts to say "Mickey!" but sounds more like "EEE EEEE!!"

He loves riding in the wagon at Nannie and Grandpa's too!

He still has yet to take his first unassisted steps.  But, we are working on it everyday.  It was walk holding your hand or the couch, but just doesn't quite have the courage to let go :)

In just one week, my baby will be ONE YEAR OLD!  I know this is cliche' to say, but I really can't believe how time has flown!  It seems just like yesterday.....  I am actually some what dreading next Thursday.  I'm not quite ready for a toddler and I am definitely not ready for my baby to grow up :(  On the other hand, I'm excited about what's to come in the next year.  I'm looking forward to watching is curiosity grow and his mind, heart and spirit develop into the wonderful person that I know he's going to be!

He has added so much joy to our lives.  A type of joy that I never knew existed.

10 Months

Recently, (like 2 weeks ago), our little bugaboo turned 10 months old!  He weighs approximately 20 pounds and is 29 inches long.  He is staying very healthy and happy as he approaches the end of his infant months.

James is crawling around EVERYWHERE

And pointing at EVERYTHING

James is full of energy and full of life!  He loves playing with his wooden truck that his great-grandfather gave him and he loves "throwing" his mickey ball around.  He is really understanding a lot more of what people are saying.  He points to his truck with you say "where's your truck?" and he points to his ball and book as well.  He has said three words now: "Da-da", "Ma-ma", and "Baaawwlll" for Ball.  He is so smart!

He is still eating 30 ounces of formula a day along with baby food at breakfast, lunch and dinner.  However, he has just started becoming interested in table food.  Day care says that he really trying everything they serve.  James is taking two naps a day (about 3 hours total) and sleeps about 10 hours at night!!

For the Fourth of July weekend, we headed south to Nannie and Grandpa's to celebrate our country's independence and the marriage of a very close friend of ours.  On the Fourth, we swam in the pool all day

And enjoyed just relaxing with the whole family outside

Happy Birthday, America!!!

The next day, we went to visit his great-grandparents in Mobile.  We ate some yummy seafood for lunch and then took some pictures with Daddy and Pa

Everyday with this little angel is so precious to us.  We love his energy and his spirit.  His smile never gets old and his laughter is music to our ears!
